Rock Odysseys- Introduction to Canyoneering and Rock Climbing

We’re teaming up with Rock Odysseys to offer an all women's introduction to canyoneering and rock climbing course!

Who is Rock Odysseys?

Rock Odysseys is a Zion National Park guide service. We specialize in adventure canyoneering & rock climbing guided trips for private, family, and large groups.

Trip Details

Day 1- May 13th

We will arrive at our campsite near Zion National Park to set up camp, eat dinner, and get to know each other! We will go to bed early to prepare for an early morning start for canyoneering.

Day 2- May 14th

We will wake up early, eat breakfast, and drive to meet our guides near the approach of the hike to start our canyoneering trip! We will be doing Water Canyon which entails a 1.5 hour hike in. From here we will complete a series of 7-9 rappels ranging from 20’ to over 100’ in approximately 6 hours. By 5 PM we will head back to camp for dinner.

Day 3- May 15th

We will wake up early again, eat breakfast, and head to meet our guides for a day of rock climbing near Kolob Terrace Road. There are rock climbing routes for all abilities that will give you a great taste of Zion rock climbing. The routes will vary in different styles and heights. By 3 PM we will be done with climbing and on the road back home!

Friday May 13, 2022

  • Arrive at camp anytime! If you do not want to camp, there are plenty of Air BnBs or hotels nearby.

Saturday May 14, 2022

  • 7 AM- Leave camp to meet our guides for canyoneering

  • 9 AM- Leave trailhead to start approach

  • 10:30 AM- Start rappel sequence

  • 5 PM- Back to camp

Sunday May 15, 2022

  • 7 AM- Leave camp to meet our guides for climbing

  • 9 AM- Leave trailhead to start climbing

  • 3 PM- Leave crag to start heading home

Included in Price

  • All technical equipment for canyoneering

    • Harness, helmet, rappelling device, gloves, etc.

  • All technical equipment for climbing

    • Harness, helmet, climbing shoes, belay devices, gloves, etc.

  • Transportation from campsite to canyoneering/ climbing location

  • Professional guides with Wilderness First Responder certification

  • Utah Adventure Girls T-Shirt

Not Included

  • Transportation from your home location to campsite near Zion

  • Food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks

  • Personal equipment such as backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, personal clothing, toiletries, etc.

  • Appropriate footwear for hiking

    • This can include hiking boots, light hikers, trail-running shoes, or sneakers

  • 2-3 liters of water per day

  • Gratuity for guides


CANCELATION POLICY

Due to demand and limited scheduling, If you cancel within 7 calendar days in advance of your reservation, you will generally be charged 50% of your total booking costs. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of trip, you will likely be charged total booking charges except in cases of emergencies, or inclement weather. If we deem weather conditions to be unsafe, a full refund will be issued.
