Wild Sage Mountain Guides- Introduction to Overnight Backpacking

  • Wild Sage Mountain Guides UT United States (map)

We’re teaming up with Wild Sage Mountain Guides to offer an all women’s introduction to overnight camping/ backpacking course!

Who is Wild Sage Mountain Guides?

“WSMG is for gals like us, who feel most inspired when surrounded by other strong, like-minded and passionate women. It is for those who want to build a lasting relationship with nature and their own inner wild landscape. It is for women who want the skills and confidence to walk out their door, head towards the hills and know they can handle any adventure.”

Trip Details-

1 Week Before

Zoom Meet and Greet: this is the first time you’ll meet your guides (virtually) and one another. We will discuss the gear list, trip Logistics, expected weather and answer any last minute burning question. We put this meeting a week ahead of the trip to give you time to get last minute items but feel free to reach out to us at any point before your trip!

Day 1

We’re out the door! We will pick everyone up at a pre-arranged location (where cars can be left overnight) and drive about 2.5 hours to the Trailhead. Once there we will do a final gear check, divvy up the group gear, make some lunch for the trail and head out! It will be a 5-7 mile hike in with elevation gain so expect to be hiking for 4-6 hours. You can also expect spectacular views and lots of trail snacks. Once we arrive at our basecamp next to a high alpine lake we’ll set up our tents, take a swim and eat our first backcountry meal cooked by the guides.

Day 2

We say goodbye to our lake and pack up basecamp today. After a tasty breakfast and maybe a short morning hike or alpine swim we’ll head out back to the Trailhead and drive back to Salt Lake City. Those who need to get home this evening will have plenty of time to do so, but we highly recommend sticking around for an (optional) group dinner at a local restaurant to commemorate an amazing trip, new friends and a solid adventure in the books.
